Long-term rentals can serve temporary work assignments, family visits or a period between vehicle purchases. The contract matters more over several weeks because daily assumptions may not apply.

Ask what the monthly price includes

Clarify the exact date range, kilometre allowance, regular maintenance, fuel, deposits and roadside support. Confirm the name of any eligible additional drivers and how unforeseen repairs are handled.

Prepare for changes during the term

Ask what happens if your plans end early, whether there is a replacement vehicle during repairs, and how extensions are priced. Keep the full agreement in writing so neither side relies on an informal understanding.

Compare full terms, not just a price

Ask for the exact vehicle, dates, available pickup location, deposit, distance allowance, fuel or charging policy, late charges and cancellation terms. An itemised quotation is more useful than a headline day rate.

Review documents and permitted use

Driving licence eligibility, registration classification, permits and insurance depend on the location and service. A private-registration vehicle is not automatically authorised for commercial rental. Both parties should verify the applicable requirements before agreeing to a transaction.
